The Power Box TM Features

With the installation of new railway signalling systems and the up-grading of many others, there is a growing demand for Location Cases.

One of the requirements of a Location Case is the management of the main electrical power supplies and the distribution of that power to the signalling transformers. Another requirement is the safe termination of the potentially large size cables into small isolator terminals.

The ‘Power Box’ was developed to offer signalling system suppliers and installers, a convenient method of managing the incoming power supplies within the Location Cases.

  • Easily accessible test points for incoming and out going main supplies.
  • Manufactured in stainless steel.
  • Alternative mains cable entry gland plates to suit various applications.
  • Reversible fixing brackets to enable frame or surface mounting.
  • Pre-drilled cable gland holes for transformer supplies.
  • Outputs for up to three transformer supplies.
  • Can be configured for spur supplies
  • Each output individually fused, up to 63A.
  • Main Earth Bonding Point.
  • CPC ( Circuit Protective Conductor ) termination points available.
  • Isolating switches padlock facility in ‘on’ and ‘off’ positions.
  • Isolating switches conform to IEC 947-3, the latest European directive.
  • Isolators rated at 80A
  • Internal mains cable 16mm2 rated in accordance with UNE211002 and is LSF.
  • Can be labeled to customer’s own specific requirements.
  • Available in a number of standard configurations.
  • Special configurations can be designed to suit specific applications.
  • Each Power Box is individually tested and supplied with documentation.
  • Standard configurations normally available from stock
